I messaged on facebook last night that we were going to get some snow. Weather people have been telling us all week this was coming. Expectations were for 6 to 15 inches, so I figured that we would get 3. Well, I was wrong, but not that far off. I would guess we got around 6 inches.
So these weather people have been driving me wacko shit, and you probably know me well enough that I am...shall we say critical...of TV when they are wrong. Or stupid. Or both.
Kathy Sabine is the weather chick on Channel 9. She is perky. Not Katie Couric perky, but annoying bouncing her head back and forth perky. Like she is 18 years old. Kathy tends to use phrases over and over, mostly in the same weathercast. Phrases like "what a difference a day makes" or "do you hear the rain on my umbrella?" That one she threw out there 5 times last night. She is just way too goody two shoes for me.
Over on Fox 31, there is a guy named Nick Carter. who can be best described as the Michelin Man with a suit on. He is the one that speculated about the "now famous" viewer pic after being shown on the screen for 4 seconds. He ad libs too much and says stupid shit.
Now years ago, Fox 31 had a booth at the People's Fair downtown, where kids could get in front of a green screen and do a fake weather forecast. Of course I did it! You doubted that? Sure, it is tough, but I strayed from their script and did my own ad libbing. Didn't do that bad for the first time. I am sure that with some practice, I could wipe the floor with the current slate of weather dorks.
