So thousands of miles later, I arrive at the first stop in the Midwestern Extravaganza - Marion, Ohio. Walk in the house, and Dad is immediately up from the basement (where he and The Fran were watching something at a very loud volume) and hugs abound.
First things, first, I go upstairs to the bathroom. Really, really needed to potty. TMI? Too Bad. My blog. I get downstairs to the main floor, and there she is - live and in person, The Fran. She stands up and moves toward me. Uh oh, a hug is coming. I do a step-pivot to the left and avoid it. Whew!
So as I am eating re-heated Donato's pizza (not so good reheated), I am talking to Dad about the trip in. Since it rained mostly through Missouri, TF says "really? it rained the whole time?" Yes, that is what I said. Bitch.
Back to talking to Dad. They are going to come over on Friday to my sister's house for Skyline Chili. Google it. TF says (I know this will shock you) "what?" Dad says again what is going on, and adds, "you are from Cincinnati, you know what Skyline is". TF: "Never heard of it, don't know what it is." Funny, she told Suzann a couple weeks ago how much she loves it.
