Let's just face fact, shall we? There are places in this grand and wonderful country that are just ridiculous. Nebraska is one of them. Sure, sure, there is Lake McConaughy State Park in Ogalalla, it is cool to camp there, but the rest of the state? Yuck, tooey!
Interstate 80 is my definition of Hell On Earth. Not that I-70 through Kansas is much better, but look at what you have to deal with. It starts with Nebraskduh's largest town, Omaha. As in "Oh Mah God, shouldn't they blow up this town?" What an odd town. And there is no real reason why to say it is odd. It has a big zoo, saw that on TV, it's got Warren Buffett (no relation to Phoebe or Jimmy) who has major dinero and still lives in Omaha), it supposedly has some awesome telephone infrastructure due to SAC Command being there (if you are into that), but honestly, that is about it.
I have talked to people from Nebraska and they just love, love, love their state. Huh. I am from Ohio, The Center of The Universe, but c'mon, there is a reason for that nomenclature. Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame, Football Hall of Fame, actually a lot of Famed Halls, but Ohio also has Lake Erie, culture in the cities, and the Popcorn Festival (along with the Bratwurst, Tomato, Strawberry and Pumpkin Festivals)! Ohio even has PEOPLE living there. Imagine that.
It only takes a couple hours to traverse Ohio on any of the fine Interstate highways. Nebraska? Years.
Never been a Husker fan, though admittedly never been a great Buckeye dude all these years. The Bengals used to be great in the Ken Anderson days (who? Go Google), but now-a-days, can't really claim an affiliation to any team. Unless they are winning, and winning big.
So, there is no real reason for my sudden, out-of-the-blue outburst about Nebraska, but then again, is there ever a reason for what and why what I blog about to you? Gotta (Oh Dear Lord, I am gettin' to be like Sister Sarah Palin, endin' all my words with an apostrophe and sounding like someone from....from...from Nebraska!) back to my original derailed train of thought, Gotta give you something to think about!
